Chanukah in Story and Song

Community Concert Event with The Western Wind

The renowned vocal ensemble The Western Wind will perform their acclaimed program "Chanukah in Story and Song" in Wichita on Sunday, December 14th. This program was originally developed by The Western Wind for National Public Radio as part of its series on fine music for the Jewish holidays. The Western Wind will be joined by local TV personality, Merrill Teller, KWCH Meteorologist, who will be providing the narration for the story.

"Chanukah in Story and Song" tells the story of Chanukah, beginning with the historical account of the Maccabean resistance to the Greek tyrant Antiochus, then continuing through various themes and customs for Chanukah from around the world, ending with the familiar children's dreydel.
