The MKJF helps countless people overcome poverty, hunger and despair. And we provide funding to programs that sustain Jewish identity and enrich our community. With your help there will always be a place at the table here at home, in Israel and around the world.
At Passover, we celebrate our belief in charity, compassion, education, building Jewish identity, and caring for people in need. When we promise to open our doors to "all who are hungry," we reaffirm these values. Federation helps us put these values into action - every day, all year round.
At the core of Federation's historic mandate is our responsibility to care for the vulnerable. We share a collective identity and an instinctive pull to come to each other's rescue to keep everyone at our communal table healthy and strong.

Make Miracles Happen: Simply Tzedakah
This year, keep a promise to the Jewish people. Make a miracle happen for those in need!
Simply Tzedakah is an annual holiday campaign from the Mid-Kansas Jewish Federation. For one night of Hanukah, you can honor a friend, a child, a parent, a niece or nephew, a grandchild or loved one, near or far away, with the gift of tzedakah. With a minimum $18 contribution (just a little Hanukah gelt), you can honor somone special while making a difference in the life of at-risk Ethiopian-Israeli teens.
This year MKJF's Simply Tzedakah campaign will benefit the Ethiopian National Project, a program of the Jewish Federations of North America which provides educational and social opportunities to help Ethiopian-Israeli teenagers reach their full potential. Your gift will go to the Youth Outreach Center in Lod, Israel, which provides a safe, physical haven for youth at risk. The center offers after-school support and a positive framework for teens who are at risk of dropping out of school, using drugs or alcohol, partaking in criminal behavior and being on the fringes of Israeli society.
The Mid-Kansas Jewish Federation is one of 147 local Federations across North America - in cities big and small - that constitute United Jewish Communities/Jewish Federations of North America. Every year, the Federation system raises more than $850 million that literally turns on the lights for millions of Jews in Israel, in the former Soviet Union, in Ethiopia, and in 60 countries around the world.
Building a Jewish community that touches all Jews - a community that is open and responsive and strong - is what the MKJF is all about. For all of us, it's about more than charity.
The MKJF raises nearly $400,000 annually for the support of the local Jewish community, Jewish communal needs nationally, and the support of Jewish communities overseas. The vast majority of these funds are raised through the Annual Campaign.
These donations go to support our community school; to provide a ride to synagogue for a shut-in elder; to provide a Jewish summer camp experience for a young person; for school supplies for an Ethiopian immigrant; for a Jewish community center in Eastern Europe. Truly, no donation goes farther, or helps more people, than your donation to Federation!
Taking are of each other along the way is our sacred responsibility. Join us ... be part of the community where your generosity does so much good. Make a real difference. Give to the MKJF's Annual Campaign.
