The MKJF sponsors educational, cultural and social programming to deepen and broaden the Jewish opportunities available in south-central Kansas. We sponsor concerts (The Western Wind, Rick Recht), speakers (Joan Wolfberg, Dr. Steven Windmueller), scholars-in-residence (Arthur Kurzweil, Rabbi Danny Siegel), as well as the satellite-broadcast "Live from NY's 92d Street Y" program six times per year.
In 2009 the MKJF offered the Jewish Outreach Institute's "Grandparents' Circle" program. And in December 2009 we are very pleased to sponsor "The Prince of Kosher Gospel Music," Joshua Nelson!
There's always something going on at Federation!

Café Chevre (Friendship Café) is our monthly lunch and education program, open to all who enjoy good company, lunch and an interesting program.
Recent presentations have included: an exercise program from the head of the YMCA's "Silver Sneaker" program; a concert by a local high school girls' madrigal ensemble; the remembrances of the daughter of the survivor of the pre-World War II "kindertransport"; and a briefing by the local public TV station about the switch to digital programming.
Remember! Café Chevre is "not for seniors only" ... everyone is always welcome! We're always looking for fun and educational programs for Café Chevre...all suggestions are appreciated. |

Yachad |
|
|
|
Yachad, a group of Jewish singles, couples, and the "young-at-heart," meets monthly (or so) in a casual social setting, so the members can form their own social networks and feel more comfortable attending community events. For over seven years, this dinner/social group has been "going strong." Yachad is an "outreach" group wiht members of all ages and is open to anyone who would like to attend! Newcomers are especially welcome.
Food, fun and friends... keep Yachad going strong! |
